About Harriet Lloyd
Background
I am a mostly self-taught artist with a particular interest in portraiture. My inspiration comes from animals, children, history, boats and the sea. Having spent much of my career as a writer, I have spent the last twelve years focusing solely upon oil painting as a full-time pursuit.
Born and raised in New York, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University, after which I married and raised two daughters in New Jersey and later Rhode Island. Since 2021, my husband and I have called Saint Simons Island, GA our home, where we continue to enjoy a coastal lifestyle and where I find an abundance of artistic inspiration.
